All discussions and interactions with BSN, Lunch Bunch and Bering Spiritual Support Group are held in the highest level of confidentiality.
BSN staff, leaders and participants are friendly, non-threatening and non-judgmental. Our activities and events are confidential and welcoming for all. Although many of BSN’s meetings are held at Bering Memorial United Methodist Church, BSN and its groups are non-[secular or sectarian] – all are welcome. BSN is a “safe” place for you to ask questions, seek friendship and find support from those who are positive or otherwise impacted by HIV/AIDS. We encourage you to contact Jerry or Larry by email or phone, as shown above. Remember, your inquiry will be completely confidential and non-judgmental.
BSN also offers “Grief Recovery” group sessions to help attendees recover from feelings of grief (loss of a loved one, illness, job loss, etc.). These sessions typically last for 7-10 weeks and are limited to 16 participants. The Overcoming Grief sessions focus on sharing and compassion; specifics discussed in the group setting are confidential. There is a small fee to cover cost of reference materials, and pre-registration is required.
If you are gay, and have experienced feelings of guilt or shame, you may benefit from attending one of the gay shame seminars offered by BSN. These sessions combat the stigma associated with homosexuality, and help participants overcome such feelings. The sessions are completed in a single day and include lunch. Pre-registration is required.
